The company had reported strong earnings for the first quarter 2009 as they rallied from $1.65 to $2.28. Since, Global Ship Lease, Inc. announced receiving credit for an $800M dollar facility (Source) and their Chief Executive Officer presenting at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch Global Transportation Conference in New York, NY (Source).
A rally along the lines of the one in late May is very realistic in anticipation of strong earnings. We believe that technical analysis formulates an ideal trading opportunity. Similar to SRZ, our recent 34.5% gainer coming off of a technical bottom, GSL has a float estimated at 43.5M.
